Storied programs often duked it out weekly in the early days of the FVYFL. Jump back a decade ago, when team counts were in the single digits, it was practically impossible to not share the field with one of the cornerstone programs of the time. Fast forward to today and the 8-man division sits at 19 teams and counting. Those traditional teams still remain, but their encounters with one another are now more few and far between. The 2025 season was pretty wide open for most of the schedule....

Some games are all gas and no breaks, while others prove that scoring, no matter the frequency, is always a precious commodity. I don't know if you could ask for a better day to play a champ game. Some late-Octobers tend to get a bit brisk and even threaten to drop moisture on players and fans alike. The well-traveled among you could easily point out the 2023 title game between Aurora & Raymond Central for example. Thankfully, clear skies and moderate temps flipped that script on its head....
